Disciple Bible Study Mini-Training
Disciple Bible Study Mini-Training Event, Sunday, June 28, 2-5 PM, First UMC of Brookshire, 707 Cooper at 7th Streets, Brookshire, TX 77423. Taught by Jill Krone, Certified Lay Speaker, this free training is open to persons of all denominations, including persons who have not yet taken a Disciple Bible Study course. It will answer most questions and give hands on experience with the materials. For those who have had DSB previously, it will help to bring study manual, teacher helps, and implementation guide if they are available. Issues covered: how to promote and lead the study, funding options, calendaring, special challenges, ordering materials, etc., as well as various DSB options. "Compassionate Communications Workshop", Saturday, June 27, 9:30 AM - Noon, First UMC of Brookshire, 707 Cooper at 7th Streets, Brookshire, TX, 77423. Taught by Bren Hardt who for many years served on the UM Board of Church and Society, this free workshop focuses on ways to understand why and where communications breakdown, learn ways of listening and speaking that will shift the way you relate to yourself and others and a host of helpful communication techniques.
